Tourney is almost upon us, so let's remember some details. Lines in at 4:01 am and lines out at 2 pm. You have 10 hours to make history on the water. The weigh in starts at 2 pm and goes until 3:30 - 3:31 and your fish doesn't count.
Right now, the entry fees are starting to roll in so thanks for everyone who has paid. For those who haven't, get them in asap. As of now, it looks like we tentatively have about 17 boats, so there is going to be some good cash on the line.
T-Shirts are selling, and we'll have a bunch at the after party. Thanks to Tara at Talk of the Town Cafe (www.talkofthetowncafe.com) and the crew at Sunrise Bait & Tackle we're starting to see some shirts proudly worn around town.
Also, for anyone who is in town, and up for some good trash talking - get over to Hot Stove on Friday night we're we'll be hanging with a few different captains/crews and hopefully making some sidebets (step up Benny boy).
My brother went out earlier this week with tourney entrant Captain Mayday, and they had some success on the rips. Apparently Mayday lost a big one at the boat which only shows how the pressure iof this tourney is making some people crack already.
Sean said the blues were pretty thick in the warmer water off the point with a few smaller bass mixed in, and the boat crowd was thinner than he expected. His wife made some of her famous fish chowder with a few of the fish they caught, and she'll be onhand at the party to share her recipe and throw back a martini or 8. My wife is already asking what she should wear to the party, and has narrowed it down to her Pelagic tank top, Monster Shark tourney pink tshirt, or official Headhunt shirt - I love it.
Lastly, there have been some reports of the Feds targeting boats outside of the 3 mile line. The Headhunt DOES NOT have a policy on this issue, so fish wherever you want, we just don't want to see anyones day ruined with hefty fines.
Other than that, let's hope the swells smooth out by the weekend and that we get some more boats involved. Let us know if you have any questions, and hope to see you at the Stove on Friday.
