T-shirts should be in soon, Sean is taking the reign on this so cross your fingers but the design and everything is finalized and we’re good to go. Now we just need Sean to get them printed hopefully this week. Cross your fingers.
For boats, I think we’re up to at least 17 now, but most still need to pay – send checks as soon as you can so we don’t have to wait until last minute. The latest we’ve heard is that a group from Boston who fished two years ago have grabbed Haywire Sportfishing out of Saquatucket. I think we’re up to 5 commercial boats, but we’re keeping everyone in the same division again this year so the pressure is on. The goal is at least 25 boats so spread the word. Remember, you can fish anywhere on the Cape, just need to weigh in at Harwich.
On the fishing front, we sadly haven’t been out much. One of our friends, and Headhunt tourney veteran, was out on stellwagen last week and fought a monster tuna for 10 hours. Yup, took him 20 miles, 10 hours, and had the beast close enough to see (said it was wider than his 8 ft transom), but a rookie mistake by one of his mates (who is no longer his mate, or friend) caused them to lose the fish of a lifetime at the bitter end. Will see him tomorrow to get the full story, but I know it is still painful for him to discuss.
Out our way we’re talking about an overnighter on Team Jackal this Friday – maybe head out for some bass on the rips Friday evening, fish the night for some sharks, and then hit the tuna bite east of Chatham first light. Not sure what the plan is yet, but if there are any other boats in the area let us know.
Hope everyone is having a happy fourth and if you’re in the Plymouth area and want to crash a sweet bbq, with at least 5 headhunt boat reps involved, let me know - starts tomorrow at 3 pm right by Plymouth center.
