I have no idea who the Wizard is, but they fit right in – they are my new favorite to win this whole thing for no other reason than they know how to talk trash.  I know there is a Wizard on the Deadliest Catch, so maybe word has spread further than expected and we will have a 120 foot crab boat trawling Bearses – which would be sweet.

We heard back from the folks at Charlie Moore and they are sending a prize package, so big thanks go out to them, and On the Water, both responded immediately when asked to contribute and stepped up.  Sounds like Sunrise Bait & Tackle, the site of the weigh in, has also stepped up to donate a prize package, so it looks good.  Also, the 400 Club is going to be throwing a great party, so we will be taking some of the winnings and putting it towards the fee there.  We have lost more than a few hundred bucks the last few years, and this year are just trying to break even so we can keep growing this.  Tshirts were more this year, and food will be more at the banquet, so we will be keeping some of the cash to pay for all of those expenses, and the winners will get the majority of the cash, and the prize packages we are accumulating, so this will still be a big prize for the winner.  This has never been about making money, and never will be, so don’t worry about us trying to make a buck, we just want to keep this baby rolling.  If anyone does have a problem, just punch my brother.  Or punch him anyway.

Keep the entries coming and let us know if anyone has had any luck out on Monomoy yet – sounds like it is a bit early, but should be any day.  The Goose is gearing up and ready to roll, and I think most fans of the sport would agree it is time for the Goose to take the prize, but the crab boat Wizard could be a real challenge, especially if they fish like they talk trash.  I love it.

We thank you for your praise. The Wizard is clearly an early favorite amongst the vegas linemakers as well. We are coming off two very impressive victories in our last two events. We destroyed the competition in last weeks Dorchester Bay sea Robin classic. We also took first prize in the Barnstable Harbor Dogfish Shootout. These two wins should give us the momentum we need and catapult us to victory in the much heralded Harwich Headhunter.

ps. FYI - as a side note the environmental police seem to frown upon the use of any type of dynamite or c-4 explosives around the rips of monomoy.

The tourney is right around the corner and tension is getting high even though we need less talking and more committing with entry fees. I know that the local guys will jump in last minute as usual, yet it makes it easier to plan things with a more concrete field of boats and crews. Mike O’Brien and Sunrise bait and tackle will be collecting money as will I so drop us the $100 when you can. Anyone has a chance of winning the HEADHUNT as we do not have 200 boats so a $100 could easily be parlayed into much more making it a very solid bet if you have any skills and/or faith.

As already reported, the t-shirts are selling well requiring me to get more made up this week. Give me special requests and orders if at all possible as I want everyone to get one who wants one and we ran out last year which was a bummer for some of you. We can only print so many without knowing demand so place an order now to lock up your chances of getting T-shirts. Also let us know if you want the headhunt fish on the front version or the silhouette of the bodacious babe or both?

I am going to be honest about the fact that the crew from the Wild Goose is going to seriously try and win this thing this year so watch out!!!!!!! It may be her last hurrah with us as she is for sale right now at a good price. We will be trying to win the Headhunt this year in her honor.

I know of the "Wizard" and his sidekick who has golden skills and is as deft with his rod as he is with the young ladies. They enlighten and dazzle all whom they come in contact with. They wear their berets and wrestling garb with ultimate pride. I have seen them whistle and the fish just jump right into the boat. If they win I'm sure they will be parading around the 400 club only in body paint and their victory goggles singing songs from Michael Buble's greatest hits.

Undoubtedly, the slaying shall be quick and painless with the pirate crew of the Wizard, Harry Corduroy, Ron Jeremy, and myself. I expect the fishes to be belly-up, awaiting our arrival, as surely as Tea Biscuit rounding the bend. It shall be noted that i have had 300' of wire surgically fused to my innards, and will not fail to any kinks in my way. Snapaholics beware!

The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis. Do you think so?
