Referral Bonuses!! Free Stuff for Largemouths

The Headhunt is creeping ever closer, and we have some great interest in this year’s tourney.  To drive this to the next level, we are now offering referral bonuses to anyone who gets more boats involved.  The way this works is that for any of you who refer another boat into the tourney, we will give you 3 free t-shirts or box of Jean Burke original fish cards for every boat you get in.  3 referrals and your business will get free sponsorship for next year’s tourney.  Based on the quality of your referrals, some of them may also be exchanged for a free fishing trip on the new Burke boat once purchased – looking at some nice 28 ft rigs, so could be a good prize.  5 referrals and I’ll go shirtless on that fishing trip.

Just have folks email us at [email protected] and say you sent them our way.  Even if folks don’t fish, feel free to invite anyone to the post tourney party at the 400 Club (www.the400.com) – they had a great spread of free food last year, and we should have even more than the 100 folks who made it last year.

For the fishing, our boy in Rhody has been slaying them, and our other friends picked up their first tuna of the year which I have been chowing on all weekend.  I am still to catch a keeper this season, but did argue that the Celts would be better off if Rondo sat his non shooting butt on the bench, so that counts for something.  The announcers just said the strategy of playing “anyone but Rondo is working”.

Speaking of Boston, there is a “team Powe” that has chartered our local captain Seamus (captain/owner of Jailbreak Sportfishing – (401) 265-8262) and is making some serious noise about their winning the tournament.  Word on the street is they are guaranteeing victory, and are making their own t-shirts for the event.  One team member even said “fishing is easy” after catching the 3rd fish of his life dragging a lure someone rigged for him on a rod someone cast for him on a boat someone let him on and directed to the fishing spot, so we know they could be a force.  Knowing this team, I know chemistry and dog sitters will be an issue, so we’ll see if they can put their differences aside for this one day.  If some city slickers end up winning this tourney, we may need to re-evaluate.  That excludes me of course.

Either way, send any fishing reports you have to let us know what to expect come tourney time. Also, this blog is up for grabs, so if anyone wants to use it as a forum to spread some love, talk some trash or talk about my brother Sean and the fish he weighed in in this picture - just shoot us an email and the floor is yours.

I’ve also emailed Exxon Mobil to try to get us some free fuel vouchers for the tourney, I’m sure they need the good press this blog can provide.  Hold your breath.

Congrats on finally figuring out how to add article titles to the RSS feed. It makes a world of difference....

Oh, lookie lookie, it's the leader of Team Powe. How are the team shirts looking? You guys figure out what logo you're putting on those mesh half shirts? I bet your team throws up more times than fish you catch. Wanna wager?

Harry Corduroy has arrived. I will be in attendance this year, I am just not sure what vessel or what crew I will assemble. It is clear that I will win the tournament this year. After reading some of the other comments and seeing the other names it is also clear that I may be the only person that even catches a fish this year. I always find it funny to watch a bunch of 'civilians' trying to beat Harry the King.

In order to raise money for my new leather jacket with the giant striped bass logo on the back, I will be selling speedos that have a golden lightning bolt down the front and the saying "Mr. Numberwonderful" across the asscheeks. These will be sold for $13.99 and I will be located in front of Dairy Queen at 4pm on Friday afternoon.

I, the great Wizard of the Atlantic, will again be with Harry Corduroy in this year's tourney. To bet against us would be sheer folly and only a fool would throw his money away so easily. To catch a bass let alone a large is as easy as waving my staff and commanding the winning fish to take the bait. Bring it on gentlemen/women, Harry will be modelling his special woman catching garb on Friday and Saturday nights at the Hot Stove.
HC- lightning bolt? Niced touch.

To the field you have been forwarned.

Oh, Harry and the other jackalopes are going to make another run at it. For those who don't know, they will be the boat sitting in the slick of jim beam out on the rips.

Good to have you guys back, and look forward to some good trash talking at the Stove as a 55 year old drunken couple tries to force their 18 year old daughter on you again.

Personally, I think chemistry is too big of an issue for you guys to make a real run at it. 5 guys on the boat, 5 rides home.

I just got back from a massive workout at the gym, today was my heavy day, I did wrists, neck and ankles.

As a world class fisherman I have to keep my husky frame in tip-top shape.

We will have a 3 man crew this year, the wizard and I are waiting to announce the 3rd member of our team. We will be issuing a press release in the next two weeks.

Just like the Celtics winning the NBA Championship, Team Powe will win this tourney. Like Leon Powe, the people on this boat are made up of pure strength, guts and the ability to kill anything that gets in our way. Some will say we lack fishing experience, but just like Powe in game 2 of the finals, we will dominate the waters.

Word on the street is that there was a recent new entry that could be a real force to be reckon with... A solid mix of intelligence, strength and finesse from these young scholars raises the bar somewhat substantially!

Welcome Ghost - although you better not use that name lightly since this is Westford Grey Ghost country.

Sounds like we have another crew from Boston booking a charter so there should be some stiff competition out there. Also got an email from a boat out of Hyannis that wants in.

Side bets are encouraged. My first wager is that Burke bros win (even without a boat) and BC football will go 9-3 and tie for the national championship.
