The Headhunt is creeping ever closer, and we have some great interest in this year’s tourney. To drive this to the next level, we are now offering referral bonuses to anyone who gets more boats involved. The way this works is that for any of you who refer another boat into the tourney, we will give you 3 free t-shirts or box of Jean Burke original fish cards for every boat you get in. 3 referrals and your business will get free sponsorship for next year’s tourney. Based on the quality of your referrals, some of them may also be exchanged for a free fishing trip on the new Burke boat once purchased – looking at some nice 28 ft rigs, so could be a good prize. 5 referrals and I’ll go shirtless on that fishing trip.
Just have folks email us at [email protected] and say you sent them our way. Even if folks don’t fish, feel free to invite anyone to the post tourney party at the 400 Club (www.the400.com) – they had a great spread of free food last year, and we should have even more than the 100 folks who made it last year.
For the fishing, our boy in Rhody has been slaying them, and our other friends picked up their first tuna of the year which I have been chowing on all weekend. I am still to catch a keeper this season, but did argue that the Celts would be better off if Rondo sat his non shooting butt on the bench, so that counts for something. The announcers just said the strategy of playing “anyone but Rondo is working”.
Speaking of Boston, there is a “team Powe” that has chartered our local captain Seamus (captain/owner of Jailbreak Sportfishing – (401) 265-8262) and is making some serious noise about their winning the tournament. Word on the street is they are guaranteeing victory, and are making their own t-shirts for the event. One team member even said “fishing is easy” after catching the 3rd fish of his life dragging a lure someone rigged for him on a rod someone cast for him on a boat someone let him on and directed to the fishing spot, so we know they could be a force. Knowing this team, I know chemistry and dog sitters will be an issue, so we’ll see if they can put their differences aside for this one day. If some city slickers end up winning this tourney, we may need to re-evaluate. That excludes me of course.
Either way, send any fishing reports you have to let us know what to expect come tourney time. Also, this blog is up for grabs, so if anyone wants to use it as a forum to spread some love, talk some trash or talk about my brother Sean and the fish he weighed in in this picture - just shoot us an email and the floor is yours.
I’ve also emailed Exxon Mobil to try to get us some free fuel vouchers for the tourney, I’m sure they need the good press this blog can provide. Hold your breath.
