The bass are in thick right now not far from the point.
They are all over the surface feeding on sand eels which made them pretty finicky yesterday but there were too many all around to not be able to hook up.

The fish were under the birds at all times on and off the edges but they were so focused on the feeding frenzy that you could pull right up on them with the boat and not spook them.  If we had put some solid effort into netting them from the boat we seriously may have
had a solid chance at nabbing one and I think that I have only been in that position once before.

The whole event reminded of a late night on the houseboat on our everglades fishing trip a few months ago.  I was burping up balls of stomach acid from all the crap we had been eating and I guess maybe drinking all day and night for two days but I could not go to sleep
until I attacked the jalapeno cheese sauce with chips.
I was so done and I consciously knew I should stop but I kept force feeding myself knowing that I was in danger. Okay, I am done as I love that cheese
dip so much which is why it is never allowed in my house. Oh yeah, back to the bass feeding frenzy that reminded me of Petey eating potatoes chips in bed on
our last houseboat trip with his eyes completely closed asleep. He was chewing and shoveling in chips and crumbs were falling out everywhere in his bed and he was asleep and he still could not stop.

Weird things do happen in nature and on houseboats that cannot be explained which is why we cannot explain to the crowd that Mike O’Brien and his crew might win
this event again this year.

Could you at least make a serious run at this thing for once you freaking Lewis brothers?

I had heard a fishing report from an old guy with a beard while down at Larrys PX hungover at about 4 in the morning. He told me to go east to find the fish. He, while with egg yolk drooling down his chin into his morning coffee gave me a sticky bun and some hash and said to me to put it on my line, do a jig and moon the closest boat and I will have the greatest fish expeirence of my life. Naturally I was skeptical and asked him for some actual advice. He then enlightened me with this tidbit of info that I must pass on to the other boats in this years tourney. "Never toss the haddock overboard. It may be more pleasant than what you have waiting for you at home". I then asked him his name and all he said was this.....never trust a Burke to give you a fishing report when they haven't won their own tournament yet. Haha

Fear not Mr. Burke. This year you get the full effort. The Wizard had been repowered. The new live well is installed. Gill net stowed and a brand new weight bench has been bracketed to the deck so we can bang out some sets between fish.

Love the fire, but let's see if you guys even make it past the Yankee on Headhunt day. Also, anyone want a little side action calcutta? Burke boys do if anyone thinks they can hang with the wolfpack.

What's the side action? If we win we can take out your sister? I don't even know if you have one but it only seems fitting to make a sacrifice to the gods.
