Either way, my brother swung by Land Ho yesterday for lunch and they’re pumped and ready for the after party. This is back to where we used to hold the tourney and Team Jackal members Ethan and Ben will be running the weigh in and we’ll have the awards/announcements out back. Also thanks to Sunrise Bait & Tackle next door, they have been longtime supporters of the tourney and are great folks. If you get a chance, swing by Land Ho to check out the place, grab some food, and scope out your spot for the after party debauchery that should ensue after Team Jackal takes the championship.
Have heard some good reports recently, our Team Jackal angler out of RI continues to dominate, catching this 35 lber today. Keep in mind, in years past low 30 lber typically wins. We had one year where a 39 lber caught bayside took the belt, but most years it’s a 30-35 lb fish that wins. In the first year of the tourney, we had only 3 boats, and it was great because each of the 3 boats weighed in a 19 lber, and one team one, under protest by a few ounces. Also good pic here from another tourney vet – Goodie –who got his fish recently in Portsmouth. He and his crew are back after a year layoff and will be riding on the Magellan.
The t-shirt orders are in, and should be ready soon, and if anyone happens to head out onto the rips today, or is east of Chatham Friday– hit us up on the horn.
Happy 4th!!
