Heading out today!!!  First time this year, sadly, but Burke bros. and Captain Ahab, Billy Burke himself, will be making our maiden fishing trip this afternoon. We have a short window of only a few hours before our divorce papers are filed, but hope to at least get a line wet at the rips and pick up a few fish for the freezer. We are also heading out tuna fishing on Friday am, may be one of our only trips this year and will beputting some time in. I’m personally 0 for my last 762 trips, so my expectations are low.  It is scary to think of the things I would actually do at this point in my life to catch a tuna.  It is my white whale, and I know I currently bring a curse onto each and every tuna trip I go on. I need to break this, and may be sacrificing something soon – potentially my brother or Corduroy’s pet hamster.

Either way, my brother swung by Land Ho yesterday for lunch and they’re pumped and ready for the after party. This is back to where we used to hold the tourney and Team Jackal members Ethan and Ben will be running the weigh in and we’ll have the awards/announcements out back. Also thanks to Sunrise Bait & Tackle next door, they have been longtime supporters of the tourney and are great folks.  If you get a chance, swing by Land Ho to check out the place, grab some food, and scope out your spot for the after party debauchery that should ensue after Team Jackal takes the championship.

Have heard some good reports recently, our Team Jackal angler out of RI continues to dominate, catching this 35 lber today. Keep in mind, in years past low 30 lber typically wins. We had one year where a 39 lber caught bayside took the belt, but most years it’s a 30-35 lb fish that wins. In the first year of the tourney, we had only 3 boats, and it was great because each of the 3 boats weighed in a 19 lber, and one team one, under protest by a few ounces. Also good pic here from another tourney vet – Goodie –who got his fish recently in Portsmouth. He and his crew are back after a year layoff and will be riding on the Magellan.

The t-shirt orders are in, and should be ready soon, and if anyone happens to head out onto the rips today, or is east of Chatham Friday– hit us up on the horn.

Happy 4th!!

Less the 10 days away... as Bart Scott says" Cant' Wait"

Sorry I haven’t been posting, Team TBA (formerly known as Powe, Bass) have been holding auditions for the final spot on Jailbreak.

There are three things we look for in the contestants:

1. Not afraid of cracking beers before the lines get in the water.
2. Not afraid of superstitions; like brings Banana's on board
3. Has a pure hatred for team Sports Bag's.

Burke any update on the first ever all girl boat ( besides Sports Bag’s boat )?

I’m looking forward to the big weekend , and as usually we’ll all be down at the Hotstove Friday night for some good ole trash talking.

Sports Bag if you guys show up Friday , I might even buy your team their first rounds of Zima.

Peace out Petey

Petey! Nice to hear from you. Much like your team the Jets and your boy Bart, lots of style no substance. I guess I can't trash you too much since you have won this tourney before. But now there are 2 catagories. The "all talent" division which us Bags are in which covers guys who don't have to pay an extra 800 bucks on top of the entry fee for this tournament for someone to find us fish. We find em ourselves. The "no talent,hack...please Captain find us the fish to make us look good" division you have a very good chance to win and I hope you do cause contrary to popular belief your the only one who can trash talk as well as me and we need you around. Dangler,The Rev, Schlong, Burkes and the rest can hang with guys like us.
Buy the first round of Zimas for us we never say no to free drinks. Your virgin cosmo will be waiting at the bar for you.
