Love the recent trash talk - sounds like we should have a good showing from most of the regulars this weekend. As usual, we will take the trash talking to the Hot Stove on Friday night.
We got some sweet new reels from Quantum and Fin-Nor - thanks again to the best sponsors in the game in Goose Hummock. Given that we went light on the overall sponsors this year, we will have less prizes to go around, but it's always been about the cash and the trash talking. If anyone has anything they want to donate as a gift let me know.
For the tourney, Team Jackal has not been out striper fishing once this year. Capt Sean (Cabinboy) is going to try to get out this week to scout, but weather looks a bit dodgy so going to be an adventure, but we are still confident we will get a top 17 finish - and still win the peoples champ title.
Let's hear some more chatter this week, and please send all good numbers for where the fish are to [email protected]! For anyone else who lives in the city, walking by the damn aquarium, same spot every year, there are 20 lbers that just sit and wait for people to throw french fries and hot dog buns, it's crazy and I may need to hit one of those, or OTW should do a fishing episode there - having beers at the Landing while reeling in 20 lbers on bobbers.
Registrations are still open so spread the word. I have no clue how many boats we will have, but should be close to the last few years if registrations come in last minute like always.
Since I have caught nothing other than a few sea robins and hermit crabs this year, here are two pics from Team Jackal all star Tria who continues to harvest the ocean in Rhody - including this 2.75 lb scup monster this week and a big ass squid that had a fluke inside. Pretty impressive.
