Everybody Calm Down

We held our first official planning call recently, and have decided on a few changes. The big change this year is the increase in the entry fee to $150. It’s not much, and still far lower than other area tournaments, but we really want to step up the party and the prizes and an extra $50, per boat, will go a long way. As with everything, I’m sure we’ll hear some grief on this, but this is not about making money, but having a good time, and $150 per boat is still a good deal.

After a few drinks, the meeting started to devolve quickly, but we’re all committed to getting more prizes, for more categories this year.  If anyone has any ideas, send them along, or if anyone wants to help, let us know – we can use it. We’ve even tossed the idea of one of us not fishing the tourney to help coordinate on tourney day, but there is zero chance of that so we’ll just try to get in early and continue to count on the help we get from the wives. They won’t wear the committee issued official Headhunt bikinis but they are a big part of making this happen.

One other rule is we are keeping the winner as biggest fish, by weight.  We know there has been some backlash on the charter teams winning, but we
want to keep the overall winner a free for all and we like the challenge of beating the pros. In addition, we will now have a winner for non-charter biggest bass, by weight.  We’ll have separate prizes for this,
and someone can potentially win both. We’re trying to get more prizes to more people, so we’ll see how this one goes.

Either way, time to jack up the chatter on this and get started on sign ups. Spread the word and t-shirts should be finalized soon – still looking for a kick ass slogan so any/all ideas are welcome – otherwise we’ll just go w/ a picture of Sean drinking a scotch resting his feet on a monster bass. Actually, that ain’t bad.

Team Bass? Changing the team name again already? And who have you guys booted off the team? i heard Pop was getting ditched. Nice chemistry on that boat - 5 guys, 5 cabs home.

I love the price increse. That way if Petey wins more money can go to getting Dirty Sanchez and The second coming of Christ some quarterback lessons. Thanks also that you guys are seperating the charter boats a bit. But besides that I'm excited to get out there and hopefully it won't downpour this year so I don't catch jock itch. "Haulin bass and fast" or "Haulin bass in the state of Mass"

not bad on the slogan, keep em coming - we may also just put a pic of your nice 'moon' action from last year when you guys went by us and you dropped your pants and flash of white covered the sky. good to have you back, hope you lose.

I would say Ryan that you shouldn't post that pic of me from last year. People might think I'm a part of "Team Ass" which is clearly led by Petey. Also Ryan I'm glad you hope I lose. Since I would at least do it in style. Therefore if you have seen the movie "Waiting" your getting the "batwing" if I do.

Who the hell is Dangler? Love the fire, but you're not winning anything if you're associated with the Corduroy.
