Went out fishing today in the Taunton River w/ fellow Jackal All-Star and perennial tournament favorite Benny Allen today. Slayed the schoolies for a few hours on poppers, mad action watching the 14 inchers smash the surface like pianos dropping from the sky. Was great to pop the cherry this year, and it’s always a competition team Jackal has held for the beginning of each season – and as always – Tria has caught more fish already then I will catch all year, and my brother will lose – again.
I will start updating this blog more, but definitely send over any content you have and any early fishing reports. I have some time on my hands these days so am ready to get out there and fish if anyone is heading out.
We are going to be sending out the registration forms for this year in the next few days. One quick question – and either comment or send an email ([email protected]) but we are going very light on sponsors this year to simplify things. There will be less $$ at stake – but this tourney has never been about the dough so it is what it is.
For registration/t-shirts, either going with $125 and no shirts – you can buy them at the party, or $150 or $175 w/ 4 shirts included. We need to avoid some past issues where we had 500 shirts made, and sold about 25. I still have old Headhunt shirts that have never been worn if anyone wants one (except the tan ones which my wife uses to clean).
Also for the tourney – may have a few other folks making the T-shirts this year. Trying to spread out the work load more so if anyone has any good ideas on either design or slogan, send them in.
Lastly, let us know if you have any goods to donate to beef up the prize packages. Goal is to make this tourney better than last years, while scaling back on the workload that has driven my brother to the brink of becoming the next star of Falling Down.
My brother and I did hit the banks of John Joseph Pond in Harwich recently, and we battled the elements to pick up some nice fish – check out the video of the action - here - Burke Brothers Dominate John Joseph Pond
