White shirts for everyone! 07/13/2010
Well, two more boats added today which puts us up to 153 for the tourney Saturday. Winning prize is now up to $79,500, $52,000 for second and $25,000 for 3rd. In reality, I have no idea how many boats we’re actually up to but I think it should end up being around 25. Winning prize should be close to last year, about $1500 to winning boat, and we have a number of other prizes from On the Water, Puma, Sunrise Bait & Tackle and artist Jean Burke (our mom so watch it). The Puma stuff is pretty slick, got a pair of ocean sailing shorts that have a price tag of $110 as well as some other gear that’s even sweeter – thanks again to head PR honcho Sara Gottman for coming through with the stuff. She’ll also be at the party sizing up the crowd for official Puma boat sponsorships so be on your toes fellas. For fishing, my bro, and Team Jackal Captain, is heading out commercial fishing tomorrow, and we’ll be sure to post the numbers tomorrow if he has any luck. Just check back. I talked to him tonight and he did say they were headed out 5 clicks east of echo 5 charley bravo mothra, so should be a good place to hit on Saturday for the big boys. Good to see the comments lighting up a bit, and the boyz from Cape Cod Sports Bag getting into the fray, I’m definitely up for talking some sports smack with them over a few beers this weekend. First topic, why BC football is the best. Second topic, why BC basketball and hockey are also the best. Third topic, why Notre Dame sucks at everything. If anyone has any fishing reports, true or false, that they want to post, just send them our way at headhunt@gmail.com and I’ll post them. I know some folks have had trouble posting comments to the blog, just email them to me and I can post them pretty quick. I did hear that someone recently said that we picked white t-shirts because they are the cheapest to make. Gotta love that positive feedback on the tourney. This tourney is really just to put a little scratch on something we all love to do, fan the flame of community spirit and have a great time. We have great sponsors, a great party, and always a great group of participants. Can’t thank people like the boys from Boston who make the trip and hire charters every year to be a part of it enough – that’s what we’re all about. It takes more time and effort than everyone thinks, and pretty much tears our family apart for a month every year, but it’s worth it – even if we can win the damn thing ourselves. Yet. We only have a few days to go so time to start mapping strategy. Looks like high tide will be anywhere between 2 am and noon mountain time so plan accordingly. By the way, all colors of shirts cost the same – white ones just look better. CommentsTue, 13 Jul 2010 20:42:26 Good blog. I definetly had to add that Rudy sucks too. Secondly instead of anyone complaining about the color of the shirts should really be asking what they're made of. Due to when they are releasing the sweet tears of defeat they don't get any on themselves. The Bags will be making an appearance at the Hot Stove to size up the competition. Just look for twin sasquatch's and a terrorist. Petey Wed, 14 Jul 2010 06:19:28 I'm getting fired up for this weekend...It is going to be legendary.. Also after reading capecodsportbags.com , these guy might not be too bad... they are one of the few PATS fans who thanked the J.E.T.S Jets jets jets for Tom Brady.. if it wasn't for Mo Lewis taking out Bledose, Tom Brady would have been a 2nd stringer for life..... It is kinda like how Team Powe/Champs will be taking out all the other boats this weekend. Harry Corduroy Wed, 14 Jul 2010 06:55:24 Here is a fishing report for you. Head 5 miles east of the Nauset inlet. Toss a live pogey over the side. Wait a few minutes at that point you will either have a 30lb bass or a reel that has no braid on it at all, is literally smoking and a shattered rod blank. Wed, 14 Jul 2010 07:24:55 Team Powe sounds a bit confident. The Cape Cod Sport Bags will have to send Tonya Harding out with a crowbar to take out your fishing hands. Thanks for reading my bio and thank you for your fellow hatred of the j-e-t-s. We will see you boys at the Hot Stove. Duckfarts anyone? Titty Wed, 14 Jul 2010 09:08:06 Champs (formerly known as Team Powe)have been in training for the last 6 months. Think Rocky IV in the Russian winter tundra.... Uncle Pauley not Rocko. Wed, 14 Jul 2010 09:53:01 Vegas called the Bags and they set the odd's at 3-1 that the Bags will moon the champs. Also having Veal Scallabrine on the boat dosent worry anyone. You will blind the fish with his immense paleness. Everyone does love the Veal but he's no KG, hell he's no KFC either. The Bags do love him in green though! Ryan Wed, 14 Jul 2010 10:31:29 Odds on Team Champs pissing off Seamus - 2:1. Sean the "Jackal" Wed, 14 Jul 2010 11:06:46 I ended up at the dock today ready to roll with Seamus when an unforeseen charter crew arrived to head out with him which left me hanging. Was this an oversight, a mind game, or a ploy to wear out the competition?? Repo Man Wed, 14 Jul 2010 11:31:30 Jackal... where's my car payment? David Burnie Wed, 14 Jul 2010 12:16:22 Is there a common radio channel that the Head Hunters will be monitoring on Saturday? Just in case any trash talking starts. Ryan Wed, 14 Jul 2010 12:38:24 Trash talking will be welcome on channel 66 - does that work? Wed, 14 Jul 2010 12:43:17 Could it be? Are the "champs" a little rattled by the rookie boat from the Cape Cod Sport Bags? I can smell blood in the water. Then again it might be the trophy fish the "champs" kept in their freezer from last year thawing out on their boat. I hope you guys are as fun in person as you are here. We have a secret weapon that I pulled a 60" stripper out with. Wait did I say stripper I meant striper! David Burnie Wed, 14 Jul 2010 12:52:39 Ch. 66 it is. Sean Wed, 14 Jul 2010 14:04:59 Where the hell is Tim Lewis and brothers Jack and Jamie? I saw Jack all prettied up on the dock the other day bragging about his 240lb tuna on a spinning rod but he drew a blank when asked about the headhunt. AJ Wed, 14 Jul 2010 14:43:32 GO IRISH! Ryan Wed, 14 Jul 2010 14:49:27 Go Irish? We have a problem. Any/all Notre Dame fans will be disqualified from the tourney unless they chant "BC owns us, BC owns us" while chugging a smirnoff ice on one knee at the after party. Wed, 14 Jul 2010 15:01:23 ND fans are the ones with pink Izod's with the collar popped, plaid shorts, flip flops and a frohawk. Douchebaggery at its best! Dave Tria Wed, 14 Jul 2010 17:00:48 You cretins ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
